Alisha and Jeff
Where do I even start with Jeff and Alisha’s wedding at the Woodwinds in Connecticut? I remember meeting Alisha at Starbucks and bonding over teaching in the inner city. I knew that not was I getting a new bride to photograph but a new friend. As for the day itself, it truly was a day that reflected who they are as a couple.
The Blair’s Woodwinds Connecticut Wedding
If I could use one word to describe this day it would be authentic. I have been to and shot weddings that were in no representative of who the couple was. Jeff and Alisha’s wedding day really gave you a glimpse of who they are. Alisha’s gift to make life a party and Jeff’s laid back kindness shined throughout the day.
We started the day by getting ready photos at a hotel down the street from Woodwinds. I started with the girls and then made my way to the other side of the hotel to get the guys. A highlight for me was seeing how they responded to each other’s letters. Their smiles displayed their sweet friendship.
We made our way to the Woodwinds for the rest of this fabulous event. The ceremony was started off with the sweet reaction of Jeff to seeing Alisha in her beautiful princess gown. You could see how excited they were to finally have reached that day. The family formals and portraits were, you guessed it, authentic. The reception was my favorite part. There were emotional speeches, a fun game that involved Smirnoff Ice, and a little smashing of the cake in the groom’s face.
