Libby and Mike’s Topsmead State Forest engagement session was so fun. I can still hear Libby’s infectious laugh in my head every time I look at their photos. I meet with a lot of couples and click with them right away. These two were no different.
This session reminded me of why I love engagement sessions. It allows me to get to know couples before the day, and I am not looking for the “white tie” on a wedding day to see who the groom is. I am able to show who I am as their photographer… Now wedding days are completely ballgame but they really help with the experience.
Libby and Mike chose Topsmead State Forest for their engagement session because it is where they come to walk their dog Goose. Who did not make an appearance but was definitely gushed about throughout the session. They fell in love with the grounds and after seeing these photos you will see why.
We started the session at the cottage placed in the center of Topsmead. These two were superstars right from the get-go. I could tell they have such a sweet friendship from the time I met them face to face in the parking lot. Their calming and down for anything attitudes made this session so much fun.
We then moved to the walking path where the colored leaves were shown off during golden hour. This was where they were relaxed and that’s the goal. After this, they changed their tops and we headed to the tall grass.
After the path and open field, we concluded the session and I became so excited for their wedding next year. Not only are they at one of my favorite venues, but they have also become two of my favorite people. I could go on and on about these two but I’ll get to why you are all here.

Like I said before I am so excited for their big day next year. I also look forward to getting to know them more until that special day comes. If this session is any indication it’s going to be fun.
