Maggie and Nemil’s Pond House Cafe wedding was full of laughter and love. Whether it was Nemil cracking jokes or Maggie getting tearful during her photos with her grandma. Even though their wedding was on Labor Day weekend it wasn’t labor to shoot due to their chill and relaxed attitudes to the day. I guess when you marry your best friend it tends to go that way.
When I walked into Maggie’s getting ready area at the Hilton in Hartford it was so calm and quiet, which is not my typical atmosphere. From what I heard from the second shooter the guys were just as chill. I’m not complaining it was a nice change of pace. I started with her details with a soundtrack of the car show held across the street. Maggie then got into her dress with the help of her sister and mother.
After capturing Maggie getting ready, I then headed to the venue to coordinate with the second shooter, who was already there, to take pictures in the rose garden without them seeing each other. Spoiler Alert: We did it…Following some bridal party and family photos, the ceremony began.
The weather for their outdoor ceremony at the Pond House was Goldie Locks perfection. The ceremony was full of smiles and laughter, thanks to the personal vows Maggie and Nemil had for each other. I always love to hear more about a couple’s story through their vows.
Following the ceremony, we did some more bridal party and family photos as the sun was setting rather quickly. We headed over to the rose garden to make sure we got some couple’s portraits before the sun disappeared. Now I did squeeze some photos in after the sun was gone, but those are some of my favorites.
The reception was kicked off by their first dance of husband and wife followed by toasts from the best man and matron of honor. The toasts you guessed were filled with smiles and laughter. From the shoutouts to UCONN alum to the embarrassing stories, which also involved UCONN, the toasts gave a great glimpse of their friendship and love.
Following a toast from the bride and groom and them cutting their cake, everyone danced the night away thanks to the DJ who is actually a personal friend of the couple. The dance floor was full of you guessed it: smiles and laughter. I know I keep mentioning smiles and laughter, but it really was the theme of the day. As you will see in the photos below.
