Bryan and Megan’s Connecticut beer garden wedding was one for the “record” books (you’ll get that joke shortly. Their wedding was fun, with the occasional happy tears, from when I pulled into the parking lot til I plopped myself in the car to go home. From their vintage record-themed seating chart to Megan’s glittered party jumpsuit it was one of the coolest weddings I have ever shot.
We started the day with confetti with the girls and their cat with the boys. As Beyonce played in the background, Megan got into her dress and had her mom and sister place her cape on so she could see her dad for their first look. Oh, and to marry Bryan.
Now thanks to strong makeup, her makeup didn’t smudge from the tears that came with her first look with her dad. It was such a sweet moment and I am glad I was there to capture it for them. We moved onto the garden to do the first look with Bryan, which they followed with their personal vows (more tears). Now I stayed at a distance to keep it private, but I did hear the mention of MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), which made me giddy inside.
Thanks to doing a first look we were able to get a ton of things done before the thunderstorm hit. The rain stopped before the ceremony and thank goodness because the light in The Hops Company ceremony space is a photographer’s dream…
Bryan and Megan’s Connecticut beer garden wedding was truly a family affair. The day celebrated them but the people they love were honored and woven in beautifully. Megan’s mom Anne was a rockstar. She made the wedding cake, desserts for the desserts table, and the favors. The favors were ceramic mugs, which they used for their champagne toast. They honored Bryan’s friend with a charm on his groomswoman’s bouquet. The ceremony was performed by Marlowe, Megan’s close friend, who was also the king of selfies.
After a relaxed cocktail hour, the party started by a choreographed dance by the bride and groom. Molly, Megan’s sister, brought down the house with her speech. Later to be matched by the Charrette Family’s performance of Rappers Delight.
Megan changed into her sparkly jumpsuit and we took some photos in the photo booth that was in an old VW van. Because if you are wearing a disco ball-inspired outfit you have to take photos in an old VW van…Right?
All in all this wedding was a blast and I know I say in every blog how fun each wedding is, but I have to say I think it’s just because I have the best couples ;).

As you can see with all of the smiles in a lot of these photos it was a pleasure to capture this day for the newlyweds. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for these two… And messaging Megan about the newest Marvel movie because they see them on Thursdays as I do.
