Meet Jake and Jocelyn
In the wedding photography industry, January and February are known as booking season. My inbox is constantly flooded with a ton of inquiries. Some are what we like to call “tire kickers”, but not Jocelyn. I knew from our first phone call that we would be a good fit. Not only do we have mutual friends but we both love our families dearly. I eventually met Jake at the engagement session at Topsmead State Forest, but like Jocelyn, he is very easy to get along with.
Jake and Jocelyn are such a sweet couple. They are easy going and simple. Jake owns Frankies where Jocelyn also works. (If you are looking for a good hot dog stop by and say Raina the photographer sent you).
Baby, It’s Cold Outside: The Engagement Session at Topsmead
Back in the fall, Jocelyn’s sister Mariah took them to Topsmead State Forest. While they were there they fell in love with the location. I had never shot there before, but I could see why they loved it. The open spaces and charming buildings gave the perfect backdrop for the future Mr. and Mrs.
To say it was cold is an understatement. The weather was deceptively sunny. The wind was great enough for Beyonce to leave her fan machine at home. It was so cold, that by the time we had reached the end of the session I could barely push my shutter button down. Looking at the photos you could never tell that it was freezing. These two are hot. Despite the chilly air, we had a good time.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for their wedding next month. If this engagement session is a clue as to what to expect. This wedding is going to be a great day.
