If this family looks familiar to you it is because this their third session with me. First, was their engagement session. Then I did their wedding, and a couple of weeks ago I did their family session at Silver Sands beach. During the shoot, we also celebrated the baby’s birthday with a cake smash with a cake from Sassy Mama Sweets in Southington.
The Silver Sands Family Session Details
Like most of the other sessions I have done with them, sunset was the ideal time. Jocelyn really wanted the beach so I suggested Silver sands because I had shot there before. I love shooting there because of the scenery and it isn’t crowded. Another request was that she wanted to celebrate the babies first birthday with a cake smash, and everyone knows I love cake.
We started the shoot with the formal family photos, before the baby went to town in blue frosting. The golden hour was stunning that night, which looked great with their soft colored outfits. The flecks of blue in Jocelyn’s dress complimented the baby’s stunning blue eyes. The boy looked dapper in their matching outfits.
After the family photos, we moved on to shady spot on the boardwalk to begin the cake smash portion. You never know how a cake smash will go. You just have to sit back and have the baby determine the outcome for the most part. The baby made the cutest expressions, concluding with putting his whole face into the cake.

As you can see from the photo’s above, this session was everything you could ask for in an amazing family session at the beach. Plus it had an added bonus: cake.
It truly is an honor to be this family’s photographer. Just like it is with anyone who let’s me capture moments of their life.
